HP Laptop Sound Issue with Zoom Fix

The Problem:

When using an HP Laptop with Zoom (and possibly other audio/video applications) the laptop’s speaker and microphone both disable on there own, without direct input from user. 

The Solution:

This was found on the HP forum and seems to solve the problem.

Go to Settings > System > Sound.
Under Output click Device Properties.
In Device properties click Additional device properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Un-check “Allow hardware acceleration of audio with this device” and “Enable audio enhancements.”
Click OK.
Go back to Sound.
Under Input click Device Properties.
In Device properties click Additional device properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Uncheck “Enable audio enhancements.”
Click OK
